GARAGE SALE AND TUTORING DAY ON MARCH 14TH
In partnership with our family at Greater First Christian Church in Torrance, we are now throwing a giant Garage Sale on Saturday, March 14th at the church location, right on their lawn and parking lot! The sale will be huge as boxes of donations are already waiting to be sold! The church is located at 4915 Emerald in Torrance. 100% of the proceeds will be used by ELF to fund the ongoing efforts to provide growing relationships and education to all the children and teenagers that need help!!!
Want to help? Here's how...
WITH THE GARAGE SALE:
1. Consider shopping at the sale!!!
2. Donate items to be sold (clothing, toys, books, DVDs, electronics, furniture, appliances...etc.). Please submit only items in good condition.
3. Spread the word! Please share the information about the sale to everyone you know!
4. Volunteer to help us set up/clean up and collect items and price them!
5. Volunteer to work a shift for a couple of hours day of the event!
TUTORING PROGRAM:
In the 4 classrooms and even the main santuary, we are gathering volunteer teachers to tutor youths that need help with specific subjects in school. Youths will be tutored for an hour, then take a break to have some fun, and also serve at the Garage Sale. Then they will go into another subject with another tutor, or depending on their needs, focus in on that one tough subject!!! So how can you help?
1. We need tutors for kids and teenagers, level elementary through high school. You'll be teaching based on your availability that day and you will be assigned anywhere from 1-5 students for each hour long session.
2. Volunteer to sit with kids and our tutors for crowd control and personal support for the youths in each session.
3. Spread the Word! Tell everyone and their kids to contact us about tutoring help! Parents can kick back and enjoy the day on the grass, or drop of kids for the duration of the sessions/event. Or they can join us and help serve at the event!
4. Serve/Cook Lunch! We need volunteers to help serve food and setup/cleanup for lunch during the event! We want to have a snack bar and have lunch for all volunteers/workers/youths/parents. We also need food and drink donations to cook and serve!
All in all, what a day we have planned! Tutoring, garage sale fundraiser, fun and games, lunch and community service... all for the youth that need us the most! GET INVOLVED TODAY!
